Helena Krusec is an experienced manager and strategic communications leader with a history of working with high profile companies at the intersection of venture capital and national security. Leveraging her background in publicly policy, business, and data analytics, Helena has helped companies to develop successful digital and traditional media campaigns, execute aggressive sales and growth initiatives, created holistic brand and reputational profiles, and crafted strategies to help targets to flourish in highly competitive environments. She is a serial connector that is constantly working to create collaborative opportunities for innovation in legacy industries. Prior to joining Capital Factory, she served in leadership positions with Vericlave, the FUND Conference, 20spokes, and Cambridge Global Advisors, where she worked with the intelligence community, federal defense and national security groups, and agencies like Booz Allen Hamilton and Northrop Grumman.
Helena graduated with her Master in Public Policy degree from the University of Chicago, where she studied Strategic Campaigns Management and Cyber Security Policy, and completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Public Policy at Michigan State University. She is currently serving out a Security Fellowship with the Truman National Security Project, sits on the Young Professional’s Board of the After School All Stars’ North Texas Chapter, and serves on the Advisory Board for Invent2026 in Chicago, IL. She has spoken on cyber security-oriented panels for Campaign Tech Chicago, and was honored as a US Department of Defense, Force of the Future Scholar in 2016.
